Dr. Shannon is the co-owner of Shannon, Shannon and Associates, Inc., a family-owned business that has served the community for over two decades. Through the firm, she specializes in financial coaching, nonprofit bookkeeping, and tax preparation, equipping families and organizations with the tools they need to build long-term financial stability and generational wealth.

 

In addition to her private sector work, Dr. Shannon is the Founder and Executive Director of Phoenix Fire, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing economic literacy in underserved communities. For the past nine years, Phoenix Fire has delivered transformational education through programs such as 12-week financial literacy training and 12-week small business development programs, helping individuals strengthen their financial knowledge and entrepreneurial capacity.

 

Dr. Shannon’s community involvement extends deeply into youth development and education access. She serves through the Alabama College and Career Access Program (ACCAP), helping high school seniors secure scholarships and funding for college. She also partners with the Jewels and Gents organization, where she helps prepare graduating seniors with critical life skills needed for adulthood.

 

A passionate advocate for inclusion, Dr. Shannon and Phoenix Fire also provide specialized support and programming for the special needs community, ensuring that financial and economic education opportunities are accessible to all.

 

Through her work in business, nonprofit leadership, and community education, Dr. Shannon continues to champion a powerful mission: teaching individuals and families how to move from survival mode financially into legacy mode financially.
